Client Challenge
The Masters of Science in Anesthesiology (MSA) Program of
the Case Western Reserve University is responsible for students
who undergo extensive training to become anesthetists. Academic
Director, Joseph M. Rifici, M.Ed., was quick to see the power
of what the Microsoft Office Suite of products had to offer.
His only challenge was finding a Microsoft savvy development
company to bring his vision to life. That’s when he
contacted DeVore Technologies.
Project Scope
DeVore’s Application Development team evaluated his
department's needs and formulated a plan of action to begin
automating many of tasks that were being performed manually.
When the work was complete, the department realized true benefits
by giving both the administrators and the students the tools
to monitor progress.
With less time dedicated to paperwork, instructors were
able to devote more time to their students. Additionally,
the data, now captured in that database, empowers instructors
to analyze all aspects of the program in ways never before
possible.

Resolution
Mr. Rifici states, "I co-direct a graduate degree program
at Case Western Reserve University. We are acutely aware of
the impact that technology has on education. We have been working
with DeVore Technologies for the past five years and the company
has developed four quality interwoven database products that
have significantly improved the delivery of educational materials
to students and the quality assurance of our educational program.
The products are dynamic, cutting-edge and really address
the needs of both the student and the instructor. The development
process included interactive dialogue between the programmers
and key members of our educational staff. This process ensured
that we had ownership in the finished work and that the software
was most responsive to those benefiting from it. We continue
to contract DeVore whenever we are interested in working with
professional, responsive and knowledgeable technology specialists."
