Welcome.jpgOn Thursday February 25th, DeVore will host and sponsor the Northeast Ohio Chapter of American Society for Training and Development (NEOASTD) Dinner Workshop at our Beachwood location.

NEOASTD has been in operation for more than 55 years and its primary purpose is "to promote the advancement of training and development by linking the people, learning and performance of its members and the public."

The group is comprised of human resource development and training professionals in business, industry, academics, government, non-profit and community organizations. NEOASTD serves a membership community that includes persons just entering the training field, experienced managers, individuals in training related jobs, independent consultants, those in transition, and all who are trying to stay current in the training field.

NEOASTD holds a monthly Dinner Workshop during which members typically enjoy a half-hour of networking with other training professionals and a buffet style dinner followed by an informational/educational presentation on the chosen topic for the evening.

As a leader in the computer and information training field DeVore is especially excited to host this group of professionals.

Lori DeVore is proud to become a member of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors!

Posted By Ray Dalley Tuesday, February 16, 2010 At 4:33 PM

On Thursday, January 28th, Lori DeVore, President and CEO of DeVore Technologies was pleased to be sworn in as a member of the American Cancer Society Cuyahoga Unit Board of Directors. The Society has raised money for cancer research on both a local and national level. The ACS is dedicated, not only to educating the public on cancer, but also providing support for those who suffer from this disease.

Ms. DeVore has long been a supporter of the ACS and has been active in several ACS sponsored events over the past few years. She was especially honored on Thursday, January 28, 2010 as she was sworn in to the ACS Board of Directors.

Having witnessed first hand the destruction and devastation cancer causes as she held the hand of her brother Tommy while he fought hard against the Acute Myeloid Leukemia that eventually claimed his life, Ms. DeVore has a deep appreciation for all of the things the ACS strives for. Tommy was 48 when he lost his battle.

In addition to her brother, Ms. DeVore's biological paternal grandmother lost all three of her sons to lung cancer. All three were 48 years of age when they passed away and they all died within two years of each other. The same Grandmother passed away within a year of Ms. DeVore's biological father, and her grandfather died from lung cancer shortly thereafter. The year of 1999 brought the death of Ms. DeVore's older sister, Donna DeVore. Her adoptive father, Bruce DeVore is currently waging a 10 year ongoing battle against prostate cancer.

Says Ms. DeVore, "This was not a move to make myself look good or pretty. In my own life I have lost many loved ones to this devastating disease. My case may seem extreme, but everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. I am the last surviving child of my mother. I no longer live for myself, but I live for her and to fight this terrifying disease. The American Cancer Society will make a difference and I want to be a part of that by helping to raise both awareness and funds!"
