| Our
processs for creating successful applications is rooted in the fundamental
concept of "Form following function". The basic rule for
any design is "Form follows function." If an object has
to perform a certain function, its design must support that function
to the fullest extent possible. Our years of project management
and client engagements have given us the opportunity to define development
and polices and guidelines that drive project success.
It has been our experience that many design companies do not realize
or understand the basic function of a web site or a desktop application's
full capacity, and sometimes they make wrong decisions about its
form. More than once we have encountered "designers" whose
delivered project was mediocre at best, and who showed a blatant
disregard for the Internet as an integrated business processes medium.
Our web designs and application solutions exhibit clarity, organization
and expression to connect with your audience. If you are building
an e-commerce site, an online magazine, an extranet or even an Excel
reporting tool, your organization needs a design and function that
is intuitive, informative and efficient.
It's not enough to design a visually pleasing site or application.
Today's client demands superior solutions in a forum that allows
for the development of extended customer relations - cultivated
over a period of time. DeVore is fully versed in web standards,
application deployment and best design practices - we always strive
for quick downloads, easy navigation, optimized coding and most
of all…consistency.
DeVore uses the following process for developing web and desktop
applications that will be reflective of your goals and message.
Phase 1—Planning
DeVore plans the site organization with you. This is where we define
the types of functionalities you need to have built into the site.
You may create the copy, or work with one of our content specialists.
Phase 2—Design
DeVore will provide you with 2-3 graphical concepts that illustrate
the "site look" —the basic navigation and design
scheme that will remain the same across all of the pages of the
site or application.
Phase 3—Development
We will create the structure of the site with all functionalities
in place, specifically any database functionalities, independent
of final textual or marketing content.
Phase 4—Implementation
The text and local images for the site are placed into the page
template and formatted. We will then go through revisions for client-requested
changes during this phase, so you can make text edits and corrections.
Phase 5—Testing
Though basic testing of the site takes place in phases 3 and 4,
We test the application after it has been completely assembled and
revised. Testing is completed in the two most recent versions of
Netscape and Internet Explorer and or operating systems. Additional
browser and OS testing is available.
Phase 6—Launch
After the site or application is delivered, management of site content
will be completed by DeVore at the request of the client. Every
project has different content management needs. These needs will
be defined at the initiation of the planning phase and a maintenance
agreement will be reached. It is DeVore's goal to make these tasks
as cost effective and timely as possible, and works with every client
to ensure that their project is professional and relevant.
