Cockpit Statistical Application

Client Challenge
Over a period of months, GE Lighting had developed a large
internal application for salespersons to request special pricing
for customers to aid in leveraging competitive situations.
While the application was very detailed, it was slow and not
well understood by the sales staff. With a need for training,
it was prohibitively expensive to bring all the salespeople
to the GE Lighting headquarters in Cleveland for training
on this application.
Project Scope
As a solution, GE Lighting chose DeVore to develop an interactive
multimedia training guide that could be delivered to the sales
staff via CD-ROM or served from company’s Intranet.
With this in mind, determining the technology for multi deployment
was the most challenging piece.

Resolution
After several months of providing demonstrations and technology
research, DeVore decided to use Macromedia Flash to present
interactive simulations. This solution kept file size to a minimum,
allowed for Intranet delivery and made updates relatively simple.
Extensive analysis of the proprietary application made project
management and design essential for success. A cooperative effort
of constant reviewing work-in-progress over a six month period
on a weekly basis gave way to one of the largest multimedia
training systems either party had ever seen. |
